LOS ANGELES — Michael Jackson’s doctor will be arraigned tomorrow for the pop icon’s drug-related death, it was reported last night.
Dr. Conrad Murray is to be arraigned at a courthouse near LA International Airport, The Associated Press said.
The family has been told Murray is facing prosecution for involuntary manslaughter.
“This is a slap on the wrist and they’re very unhappy,” said lawyer and longtime family pal Brian Oxman.
The family believes Murray should be hit with second-degree murder because he has admitted giving Jacko surgical-grade sleep medications.
“This was a deliberate administration of drugs Dr. Murray knew were dangerous and that were feeding a habit,” Oxman said.
Murray, a Houston-based cardiologist, was in LA yesterday meeting with lawyers.
Prosecutors have kept in close contact with Jackson’s family as they prepared to charge Murray.
