Here’s your first look at Shakira shaking things up on Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place.”
The Colombian songbird shares the stage with “Wizards” star Selena Gomez in an episode of the hit ’tween series, set to air in April.
In the episode, the Russo children — wizards-in-training Alex (Gomez), Justin (David Henrie) and Max (Jake T. Austin) — are shocked to learn that Shakira (playing herself) doesn’t really exist.
She’s actually the alter ego of their Uncle Kelbo (Jeff Garlin), a mischievous magician who is abusing one of the Main Eleven Wizards Rules.
Wackiness ensues when the kids realize that Uncle Kelbo has lost the ability to control when and where he transforms into the international pop sensation. While trying to solve the problem, Alex takes some time out to perform a duet with Shakira — a natural fit, considering Gomez released a pop CD last fall.
