Nicholson’s daughter ready to make acting debut in surfer film

The sexy daughter of legendary actor Jack Nicholson is following in his giant footsteps with an upcoming big screen appearance of her own — a biopic about a surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack.

A bikini-clad Lorraine Nicholson, 19, is currently filming the flick, “Soul Surfer” in Hawaii, London’s Daily Mail reported on its Web site today.

The movie chronicles the life of Bethany Hamilton, who was attacked by a 14-foot tiger shark in 2003 off the coast of Kauai.

A year later, Hamilton’s book, “Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family and Fighting to Get Back on the Board,” was released chronicling her ordeal.

The upcoming movie is based on the book.

Nicholson’s daughter is cast as Alana Blanchard, who was with Hamilton on the day the shark chewed her left arm off.

The movie is expected to be released later this year.

This is Lorraine’s biggest film role to date after small roles in movies such as “Click” and “The Princess Diaries 2.”
