E. Harlem hit-run slay

A driver mowed down a 58-year-old woman in East Harlem early yesterday in front of more than a dozen horrified witnesses.

Ilia Lopez was killed outside a methadone clinic on Second Avenue near 121st Street that she typically visited at 4 a.m. daily for her dose.

Lopez was crossing Second Avenue in front of the clinic when a black sedan that looked like a livery cab hit her head-on, witnesses said.

“He was going at more than 35 mph,” said Eric Puello, 42, also a patient at the clinic.

Lopez was declared dead at Harlem Hospital.

“He just left her there as if she was a dog,” said her boyfriend, Juan Rojas, who lived with her in the Norwood section of The Bronx.

“I’m sure the driver does not have a mother. That’s how I feel,” said Rojas, 77, who phoned Lopez’s three grown children to tell them of the tragedy.
