Chandler missing Knicks game for ‘urgent personal matter’

The Knicks will be without center Tyson Chandler against the Sixers on Monday night due to what the team called “an urgent personal matter.’’

According to Mike Woodson, Chandler could also miss the Boston game Wednesday as he deals with an illness in the family.

“I have no idea at this point,’’ Woodson said. “He’s fine. But it’s personal matters, and we gotta deal with that.’’

The Knicks will use Amar’e Stoudemire at center and plug Iman Shumpert into the starting lineup, going with a small alignment that has Carmelo Anthony back at the 4.

Chandler has had an up-and-down season. After a great start, he broke his leg in fourth game and missed 20 straight. He also was out four games in January due to the flu.
