Arrest warrant issued for ‘kidnap’ mom

RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina authorities issued an arrest warrant late this afternoon for Ann Pettway — the woman who raised a kidnapped baby as her own and disappeared when the now-grown woman tracked down her real family.

The paroled embezzler has been missing since earlier this week —along with her 13-year-old son Trevon Teele — in the wake of the astounding reunion of kidnapped Carlina White, 23, with her true Bronx family.

Her parole doesn’t expire until June 2012, and requires permission before leaving the state.

“We’ve just issued a warrant for her arrest for abscounding supervision.” Department of Corrections of North Carolina spokeswoman Pamela Walker told The Post.

Walker said the department “started actively looking for” Pettway ever since the emergence of her hideous lie about “daughter” Carlina’s birth history.

Nineteen-day-old Carlina was snatched from Harlem Hospital on Aug. 4, 1987 after real mom Joy White and dad Carl Tyson had dropped off the feverish infant for treatment.

Pettway — 49, who has lived in Raleigh for the past several years — brought the infant home, introducing her to her large Bridgeport, Conn., clan as her own baby — and only confessing the lie when Carlina confronted her 16 years later.

Carlina then began her dogged search for her real parents — culminating in a heartbreaking reunion over the past several days.

The FBI now wants to speak to Pettway about the astounding cold-case kidnapping.

But she’s nowhere to be found.

Walker said Corrections officials have called every number for Pettway and searched hospitals all over the state.

“She’s officially, willfully fleeing supervision,” Walker said.

The designation puts her in a national database.

“We don’t know where she may be, whether she’s left the state or not,” Walker said, adding that she “certainly” was also concerned about welfare and whereabouts of Pettway’s 13-year-old son Trevon, who has been missing from school and who may be with her.
