PSAL/Private boys basketball roundup: Poly Prep wins sixth straight, tops Dwight

Jay Vido scored 18 points and Bradley Gifford notched 12 as Poly Prep improved to 9-1 with a 62-48 victory over Dwight in non-league action Friday night. The Blue Demons have won six in a row.

Cardozo 54, Forest Hills 50: Chris Gayot scored 21 points and dished out five assists, Shelton Mickell had 10 points and Tyrel Hunt had nine points and nine rebounds for Cardozo (12-0), which clinched its thrid straight Queens AA crown. Denzel Dulin had 15 points and Jose Torres added 12 for Forest Hills (8-4).

Port Richmond 69, Susan Wagner 59: Presnell Wright scored 21 points, Mike McQuillen added 19 points and Brett Kramer had 14 for Port Richmond (6-7) in Staten Island A. Tyrese Campbell poured in 35 points for Susan Wagner (4-7).

Bedford Academy 73, Erasmus Hall 66: Neil Veira hit all 12 of his free throw attempts and scored 24 points, Sean Snagg added 17 points and Darren Thomas dished out 10 assists for Brooklyn A East leader Bedford Academy (10-2), which rallied for the victory by outscoring Erasmus (6-6) 37-23 in the fourth quarter.

Lane 72, Hillcrest 61: Kalil Johnson notched 21 points and seven assists, Robert Familia had 14 points and Shawn Way 13 points and 11 rebounds for Lane (4-7) in Queens A East. Hillcrest is 3-9.

Seward Park 75, Richard Green 61: Chris Martinez had 24 points and 16 rebounds and Tyler Ellison notched 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for Seward Park (3-11) in Manhattan A Southwest. Richard Green is 2-11 in Manhattan A East.

George Washington 56, Beacon 35: Justin Parham posted 15 points, 13 rebounds and six assists, Eric Perez and Michael Reyes scored 11 points apiece and Frederico Brens followed with 10 for George Washington (7-8), which led 17-4 after the first quarter, in Manhattan A Northwest. Beacon is 6-7.

Midwood 78, New Utrecht 46: Bryan Smith had 24 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Enees Nikovic added 15 points and 18 rebounds and Emmanuel Joseph had 12 points and eight rebounds for Midwood (11-1), which avenged its only loss in Brooklyn A South this season. The Hornets clinched the division crown while New Utrecht falls to 8-4.

Telecommunications 53, James Madison 45: Issak Bodon scored 16 points and Roger Clarke Jr. had 11 points and five assists for Telecom (7-5) in Brooklyn A South. Madison is 2-10.

FDA 76, Environmental Studies 67: Andre Clark sank 16-of-22 free throws, scored 30 points and dished out seven assists, Kenneth Webbe added 18 points, eight rebounds and eight assists and Andrew Hampton Jr. finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds for FDA (6-8) in Manhattan A Northwest. Environmental Studies is 8-5.

FDR 57, Sheepshead Bay 50: Vonallen Pickett scored 16 points, Ala Alzindani had 15 points and 10 assists and Eric Sandoval finished with 11 points and 17 rebounds for FDR (7-5) in Brooklyn A South. Sheepshead Bay is now 5-7.

Stuyvesant 44, Washington Irving 27: Quinn Hood had 19 points and nine rebounds and Roy Vlcek tallied 10 points and four assists for Stuyvesant (8-5) in Manhattan A Southwest. Washington Irving is 8-5 in Manhattan A East.

Grover Cleveland 78, Richmond Hill 53: Sakeem Bradley poured in 27 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and added six assists and Lukas Rascius followed with six points and 12 rebounds for Grover Cleveland (7-5) in Queens A East. Richmond Hill is 3-9.

Norman Thomas 77, Economics & Finance 19: Dylan Cassanova scored 14 points, Corey James had 13 points and 13 rebounds and Osawaru Omorogbeakpata had nine points and 10 assists for Norman Thomas (12-1) in Manhattan A East. Economics & Finance is 6-6 in Manhattan A Southwest.
