Jets gear flyin’ off the shelves

Jets merchandise retailers are counting their own Gang Green after the team’s big win on Sunday.

More than $10,000 worth of Jets jerseys, T-shirts and hats flew off the shelves yesterday at the team’s Midtown store, which did between two to three times its normal business, employees said.

“It’s been crazy,” one salesman said. “Because of the game, we’ve had people here all day.”

Normally, the store racks up $5,000 in sales on a good day, employees said.

Fans built new green wardrobes even though the store still hadn’t received a shipment of AFC Championship Game gear, said salesman Kenny Jian.

“They overnight them, you know, so you don’t know when they’ll get here,” he said. “We’ve been sold out of the Bart Scott jersey for a while now. So most people get [Mark] Sanchez or [Darrelle] Revis jerseys. They’re the most popular.”

Scott delivered an emotional rant on ESPN after the 28-21 victory over the arch-rival Patriots put the Jets one win away from the Super Bowl, saying the New England defense couldn’t “stop a nosebleed.”

The Zaiff family of Huntington, LI, said Sunday’s triumph made them want to buy anything green.

“We watched the game yesterday. We’re huge Jets fans, so we decided to come down and celebrate,” Maureen Zaiff, 41, said. “We got two jerseys, a T-shirt, a key chain and a banner. And we’ll keep celebrating if we keep winning.”

Matthew Eisner, 11, of Brooklyn was one of 10 customers to buy a Revis jersey yesterday, as well as a “Play like a Jet” wristband.

“I was so surprised. It was amazing yesterday, so we had to come down and get some stuff,” he said.

The store started the day with 36 $80 Bart Scott jerseys and sold out completely by the afternoon.

Other popular items were the $55 hooded sweatshirt and $30 vintage ladies T-shirt.

With next week’s AFC Championship Game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh just a road trip away, ticket sales have also been brisk, according to StubHub.com

With 4,000 seats available on the site, the average seat has sold for just over $400 — more than twice the $170 face value of an average ticket.

The highest-selling seat so far has been $1,500. Some are on sale for $3,000.

“If the game was in the Meadowlands instead of in Steel Town, I would expect prices to be higher than the current $405 average, given the dynamics of the New York market,” StubHub spokeswoman Joellen Ferrer said. “However, since the game is in Pittsburgh, fans benefit because prices are at a more affordable price point.”
