Oprah Winfrey will be the surprise guest at the Allen & Co. Sun Valley tech and media conference. It’s unclear whether Winfrey is simply attending or hosting a session, but pal Gayle King said: “She’ll be here” today.
King arrived at the exclusive resort with Discovery Communications’ CEO David Zaslav.
On the agenda for attendees tonight: a Western-themed barbecue. Winfrey will brush shoulders with the cream of media, tech, sports and banking fields.
Just landed at the resort this evening were Disney CEO Bob Iger, Universal Studios chief Ron Meyer and Sony CEO Howard Stringer.
Asked about the inevitable new tech versus old media debate, Stringer quipped, “I’m so old tech, I can’t stand up alone.”
