$16K watercolor stolen from Soho gallery

A $16,000 watercolor piece by a famous British painter has vanished from an art gallery in Soho, sources said.

The framed work, by photo realist pioneer John Salt, disappeared from OK Harris on Wooster Street sometime between April 19 and May 6, sources added.

There were no signs of forced entry and several people had access to the painting, including visitors, caterers and employees, sources said.

The gallery itself has no video that would shed light on the theft.

Most of Salt’s paintings include broken-down vehicles and landscapes. OK Harris’ website boasts three of the artist’s pieces, including two watercolors: “Sedan With White Garage” and “Yellow Tractor.”

The name of the stolen painting was not immediately available.

The gallery was established by Ivan Karp, who is credited with helping Andy Warhol, John Chamberlain and Roy Lichtenstein gain fame.
