Rielle: I did it for the kids

Rielle Hunter wants John Edwards’ children to know why he cheated on their dying mother.

The mouthy mistress claims she wrote her tell-all about their tawdry affair because the children need to know all the dirty details.

“Their father is not a demon, and their mother is not a saint, and I am not a home wrecker,” Hunter said, defending her criticism of his late wife, Elizabeth, in her upcoming book.

Hunter insists all are to blame, including Elizabeth, who battled breast cancer while Edwards fathered a love child with Hunter.

“We are real human beings and there was a real dynamic that was going on — good and bad — and we all made mistakes,” she told ABC News in an interview with Chris Cuomo that airs today.

In the book, “What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter, and Me,” Hunter attacks Elizabeth, calling her “crazy,” “venomous” and a “witch on wheels.”
