Twitter, seeking to boost revenue, said it will work with partners including Adobe Systems and Salesforce.com to sell ads appearing alongside its 140-character status updates.

Software that taps into Twitter’s ad platform will let other companies sell promotions on its behalf and improve ad relevancy, Twitter said yesterday.

The partnerships could help Twitter, preparing for an initial public offering, reach its revenue target of $1 billion in 2014.
