HOOPS: Kobe scores four points in Lakers’ win

Dwight Howard had 19 points and 18 rebounds as the Lakers survived a four-point performance by Kobe Bryant for their eighth win in 11 games, a 91-85 victory over the Suns. Bryant didn’t attempt a shot in the first half and scored his first basket with 2:13 to play, finishing 1-for-8 with eight turnovers in one of the oddest games of his 17-year career.

Kentucky’s Nerlens Noel, the nation’s leading shot-blocker, injured his left knee and did not return as the 25th-ranked Wildcats were a 69-52 loser at No. 7 Florida . …. GOLF: Tiger sets his pre-Masters schedule

Tiger Woods said on his website he will play next week in the Match Play Championship in Arizona. He also will play the following week at the Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and in the Cadillac Championship at Doral.

Brandt Snedeker, who won at Pebble Beach, withdrew from the Match Play Championship because of sore ribs.

NCAA: Former Penn player fatally stabbed

In suburban Philadelphia, Matthew White, 53, a member of Penn’s 1979 Final Four team, was fatally stabbed and his wife charged with the crime. M
