Jason Pierre-Paul active, will play vs. Packers

Jason Pierre-Paul was adamant during the week that he would play in Sunday’s game against the Packers only if he felt his bruised left shoulder was feeling better. He didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday, did get on the field on Friday and sure, enough, he is active and will play as the Giants look to extend their three-game winning streak.

Last week, Pierre-Paul finally started showing signs of regaining his form after struggling much of the season coming off back surgery. He had a first quarter sack of Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor but then went down with a shoulder injury. He was able to return to finish the game but it clearly bothered him during the week.

The Giants also activated running back Brandon Jacobs, who has not played at all during the three-game winning streak, as he came out of the loss to the Bears in Chicago with a strained hamstring. When the hamstring healed, Jacobs last week tweaked his knee. He is ready to roll, though, and as a result Peyton Hillis is inactive. Hillis lost a fumble on a screen pass last week vs. the Raiders and wasn;t seen much on the field afterwards.

The other Giants inactives: QB Ryan Nassib, CB Corey Webster, LB Allen Bradford, OL Dallas Reynolds, DT Markus Kuhn, TE Adrien Robinson.
