A young woman was hit and killed Saturday night while crossing the street in Ozone Park, according to police.
The 18 year old was crossing 132nd Avenue from the south side to the north when she was struck by a 1999 International Truck, which was traveling northbound on Rockaway Boulevard. According to police, the truck made a left turn onto 132nd Avenue where it struck the teenager.
She suffered head and chest injuries and was transported to Jamaica Hospital in cardiac arrest where she was later pronounced dead on arrival, authorities said.
The operator of the vehicle remained on scene and there were no arrests made, cops said. The investigation is ongoing.
