More snow on tap before warm-up later this week

Brace for more cold before the week ends in some much-welcome warmth.

The mercury didn’t get past 29 degrees on Sunday and it won’t top 32 degrees on Monday, according to AccuWeather forecasts — and but that will feel warm compared with the 18 to 19 degrees New Yorker workers will endure during the morning commute between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.

It’ll get a little better by Tuesday afternoon, when high temperatures are expected to reach 41 degrees. By Wednesday afternoon, it’ll hit 49 degrees.

But those moderate temps will come only after an inch to 3 inches of snow falls on Gotham by 11 a.m. on Tuesday, forecasters said.

That snowfall will pile on to the totals that have pounded New York all winter. Central Park has endured 55.5 inches of snow this winter, doubling the seasonal average of 25.1 inches.
