Deputy in Comptroller’s office mugged outside City Hall

A deputy in the city Office of the Comptroller was mugged outside City Hall and bravely followed her attacker into the park screaming “Give it back!” police sources said.

Camille Joseph, 28, was just getting off the 4 train at the Brooklyn Bridge City Hall station around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, when she suddenly felt a tug at her shoulder as she got to the top of the staircase, cops said.

Joseph then turned around and saw the sneaky thief holding onto her brown leather wallet. He stuffed it in a pocket and fled south through City Hall Park, according to police.

But Joseph, who also worked as a campaign manager for Anthony Wiener, bravely followed the man into the park, cops said.

“Give it back!” she demanded. The suspect told her “No, I didn’t take it,” a source said.

The suspect was last seen walking toward Broadway. Cops believe he’s in his 40s to 50s and was walking with a right leg limp and had a twitch in his left eye.

“Deputy Comptroller Camille Joseph appreciates the expressions of concern she has received in the aftermath of this unfortunate incident. We’d like to thank the Police Department for their rapid response, and look forward to their investigation resulting in the suspect’s arrest,” Nicole Turso from the Office of the NYC Comptroller said in a statement.
