Women sues hospital for forced C-section delivery

A Brooklyn woman has sued a Staten Island hospital for forcing her to deliver her son by C-section, court documents state.

Rinat Dray, 35, wanted to give birth without surgery in July 2011 but her doctors at Staten Island University Hospital operated on her “against her will,” according to her Brooklyn Supreme Court suit.

“The defendants were aware that the patient refused consent for a C-section,” the suit says.

“The defendants made a conscious decision to violate the patient’s rights.”

The doctors – who are named in the suit – also injured Dray’s bladder when the performed the C-section, the suit states.

Dray is seeking unspecified damages.
