Farrow’s show averaged 292K viewers over past week

Here’s a look at how Ronan Farrow fared in his first week hosting “Ronan Farrow Daily” on MSNBC (1-2 p.m.).

The show, which premiered Monday, Feb. 24, averaged 292,000 viewers last week, down 17 percent from the previous four-week timeslot average on MSNBC and down 40 percent from year-ago timeslot numbers, according to Nielsen. It averaged 55,000 viewers in adults 25-54 — down 42 percent versus a year ago — and averaged 7,000 viewers in adults 18-34, a 78 percent dropoff from the same week last year.

Meanwhile . . . “The Walking Dead” is four episodes into the second half of its fourth season, and AMC, for some reason, has been uncharacteristically quiet in touting the show’s numbers. That’s a little strange, since the zombie drama is still going gangbusters in the ratings department. The second half of Season 4 kicked off with nearly 16 million viewers (Feb. 9), and that dropped just a little, with the Feb. 16 episode snaring 13.4 million viewers and the Feb. 23 episode averaging 13.1 million viewers — easily cable’s top series numbers, by far. Numbers for Sunday night’s episode aren’t available (yet).

New York stories on tap

Real-life Manhattan: The second episode of “The Lineup: Best NY Movies” premieres Tuesday (11 p.m.) on MSG with host Fran Healy and actors Ed Burns and John Leguizamo, Spike Lee and critic Jeffrey Lyons
debating the top New York movies ever made (each episode covers a different film genre). Prior to that episode, on Tuesday from 7 to 10 p.m., MSG will host two free screening events at Clyde Frazier’s Wine and Dine Restaurant (10th Ave. at 38th St.) with free popcorn and soft drinks. Each event will include an episode of “The Lineup” immediately followed by one of the movies discussed by the celeb commentators (cameos on the show include Steve Schirripa, Liam Neeson, Kevin Bacon, Dylan McDermott and Tracy Morgan).

More local TV news: “Good Day New York” beat “The Today Show” by 13,000 viewers in New York last week in the “money” news demo (adults 25-54). And The Paley Center (West 56th St.) celebrates the 40th anniversary of “Free to Be . . . You and Me” March 11 by reuniting the TV special’s original stars — including Marlo Thomas, Gloria Steinem, Alan Alda, Rosie Grier — and by screening the original remastered print March 8 -9.

Last, but not least . . .

The more I watch Greg Kinnear in the new(ish) Fox sitcom “Rake” as roguish LA lawyer Keegan Deane the more I like him in that role . . . Congrats to Lisa Summers on being promoted to senior VP at DKC Public Relations, Marketing & Government Affairs.
