DA won’t prosecute MTA worker accused of being get away driver

The Queens District Attorney’s office is declining to prosecute an off-duty MTA bus driver accused of acting as a get away driver for a pal who allegedly robbed a woman at a bus stop.

Augustin Rodriguez, 27, was accused of being at the wheel of his private vehicle, pulling up to a Horace Harding Expressway bus stop in Corona Friday night and waiting while his friend, Michael Iglesias, 29, leapt out of the back and assaulted the 17-year-old victim, police said.

Iglesias is accused of choking the woman, grabbing her cell phone and pushing her to the ground before hopping back into Rodriguez’ vehicle, cops said.

The men were caught less than 30 minutes later when responding officers tracked the car down using the “Find My iPhone” app and arrested them near Myrtle Avenue and 85th Street, according to police.

Iglesias was charged with robbery and possession of stolen property, while Rodriguez and a female accomplice, Sayli Llonch, 28, were charged with possession of stolen property. But a spokeswoman for the Queens DA said Saturday that there wasn’t enough evidence to prosecute Rodriguez or Llonch.
