Ponzi crook Madoff blasts politicians in new interview

Jailed-for-life Ponzi kingpin Bernie Madoff doesn’t mind stealing money — but he sure has a problem with politicians who ask for it.

In his latest jailhouse interview, the man who scammed investors out of $17 billion blasts President Obama, Hillary Clinton, Sen. Chuck Schumer, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Mayor de Blasio.

He says all they care about is money and he tired of their “never-ending” requests for campaign cash when he was riding high.

“These politicians take money from anybody — Democrats, Republicans,” Madoff, 75, told a Politico reporter in his fifth jailhouse interview since he pleaded guilty in 2009, earning a 150-year sentence.

“I basically think everybody would be better off . . . if people weren’t able to exert so much influence on politicians with money.”

He called Schumer a “personable guy,” saying he would hit him up for dough twice a year.

Schumer returned money donated by Madoff after the Ponzi scandal broke.

The scammer said Hillary Clinton would not make a good president.

“I certainly wasn’t impressed with her as secretary of state” Madoff said from the medium-security prison in Butner, NC. “Our foreign policy is a mess.”

Madoff also said he was “terribly disappointed” by Obama even though he voted for him in 2008.

“His policies are too socialist,” he said.

About de Blasio, Madoff said, “I’m not a great fan of redistribution of wealth.”

On Christie and Bridgegate, he said,“It looks like a circus.”
