WATCH: Badminton brawl breaks out between former Olympic teammmates

Two badminton players caused quite a racket on Sunday — and it didn’t involve their rackets, but rather their fists.

Bodin Issara and Maneepong Jongjit were competing against each other in the final of the Canada Open in Vancouver when things got ugly and ended with Issara needing a few stitches on his ear.

For reasons unknown, Issara chased Jongjit to another court and began pummeling him. The fight was captured on video and after several seconds, the teams’ coaches and tournament officials separated them.

Issara and Jongjit were doubles partners for Thailand in the 2012 Summer Olympics, but Issara announced his retirement earlier in the year before making a comeback.

The players were warned earlier in the match after a verbal exchange, and both were disqualified. Badminton Canada hasn’t said whether Issara and Jongit will receive any more penalties.
