Yankees’ Cano on balky toe: ‘I am good’

Robinson Cano is not worried about his right foot and doesn’t think anyone else should be either.

“It’s nothing,” Cano said. “I am good.”

Cano reaggravated his toe Thursday in the Yankees’ 3-1 win over the Rockies. He initially injured it last homestand against the Athletics when he fouled a ball off it.

On Thursday, Cano was trying to cover first base on Eric Young’s attempt at a bunt single when he slipped, causing some pain. But it’s nothing to worry about, the star second baseman said.

“A little bit,” Cano said if it hurt. “It was wet. It was bad.”

The balky toe is likely related to Cano’s slump. He’s jut 5-of-28 since it happened, heading into Friday night’s game against the Royals. X-rays he took last week came back negative.
