KANSAS CITY – As expected the Yankees placed Eduardo Nunez on the 15-day DL today and promoted infielder Alberto Gonzalez from Scranton-Wilkes Barre (Triple-A) today.
Nunez has been bothered by a left rib cage injury which forced him out of a game last Sunday.
To make room on the 40-man roster the Yankees shifted Mark Teixeira from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL.
Gonzalez was squired from the Cubs this week.
