Del Zotto sits for Rangers with hip or leg injury

Michael Del Zotto will be sidelined for Tuesday night’s game at the Garden against the Jets with a hip or leg injury the Rangers’ defenseman sustained during the third period of last Thursday night’s match in Ottawa.

Del Zotto, who practiced with the club on Monday after missing Saturday night’s match in Montreal, joins fellow blue-liner Ryan McDonagh (believed concussion-like symptoms) on the sideline.

Stu Bickel, originally slated to play up front, will shift back to defense to join a corps that will include Steve Eminger and Matt Gilroy in additon to Dan Girardi, Marc Staal and Anton Stralman. Chris Kreider, an expected scratch, will take Bickel’s spot at forward.

Rick Nash, who skated this morning after having recovered from believed post-concussion symptoms, will miss his fourth straight while Arron Asham will be sidelined for the third straight game with lower back issues.
