Jets’ Cromartie, Landry selected to Pro Bowl

The Jets had no players selected as Pro Bowl starters and two players selected as reserves, both from their secondary.

Safety LaRon Landry and cornerback Antonio Cromartie were picked for the team. The Jets also had three alternates – tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson (second alternate), center Nick Mangold (second) and kick returner Joe McKnight (third).

It is the first Pro Bowl selection for Landry, who signed with the Jets as a free agent last winter on a one-year deal. The honor will surely help him land a big free-agent deal in this offseason and could spell the end of his time with the Jets. The 28-year-old has 95 tackles, two interceptions and four forced fumbles this year. He returned one interception for a touchdown.

For Cromartie this is his second Pro Bowl and first as a Jet. He stepped up his game after Darrelle Revis tore the ACL in his left knee and was lost for the season in Week 3. Cromartie wound up with 33 tackles and three interception, returning one for a touchdown.

“It means our secondary was pretty daggone good,” Cromartie said of both players getting selected.
