Skrillex ‘Re:Generation’ flick remakes The Doors and more

If you couldn’t make it to the pair of Skrillex shows at Terminal 5 this past weekend, you’ve got another chance at seeing what this Grammy-nominated dubstep maniac is capable of, this time on the big screen. For one night only, that night being February 16, tri-state theaters will be showing “RE:GENERATION,” a documentary film that follows celebrated DJs and electronic musicians/producers as they re-imagine five traditional styles of music.

Here’s a look at Skrillex creating the new single “Breakn’ A Sweat” featuring members of The Doors (Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, John Densmore). The track is part of Skrillex’s recently released EP, “Bangarang.”

In addition to the Skrillex/Doors collaboration, you’ll see The Crystal Method working with Martha Reeves of The Vandellas and the Funk Brothers on the R&B song, “I’m Not Leaving”; Mark Ronson hooking up with Erykah Badu, Trombone Shorty, Mos Def, Zigaboo Modeliste and Members of The Dap King for a little New Orleans jazz-infused “A La Modeliste”; DJ Premier getting down with NAS and Boston’s Berklee Symphony Orchestra for “Regeneration”; and Pretty Lights doing some twang with LeAnn Rimes and Dr. Ralph Stanley on “Wayfaring Stranger.”

Hurry up and get your ticket to one of the “RE:GENERATION” showings at the following theaters on February 16. (OK, there’s also a rebroadcast on February 23.)
