FC Dallas star Brek Shea to train with Arsenal during packed off-season

DALLAS — This figures to be a busy off-season for MLS star Brek Shea, FOX Sports Southwest reported Saturday.

Not only is the FC Dallas midfielder set to see considerable minutes for the US national team in a pair of upcoming international friendlies in November, but the 21-year-old College Station, Texas, native also will train with English Premier League giant Arsenal.

Shea will join up with the Gunners in November, ahead of Dallas’ preseason training start in the middle of January.

It comes off the back of a fantastic season for Shea, who led Dallas with 11 goals while earning several call-ups to the national team under new head coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

Shea’s performances earned him a spot in the 2011 Major League Soccer All-Star Game, and he was listed among the candidates for the 2011 MLS MVP award.
