South Shore point guard Samuel commits to UConn

South Shore point guard Terrence Samuel, one of the top seniors in New York City, verbally committed to Connecticut yesterday afternoon, he told The Post. The 6-foot-4 floor general picked Jim Calhoun’s program over Rhode Island, Dayton, Tennessee, Pittsburgh and Temple.

Samuel will join AAU teammate Kentan Facey of the New Rens. Facey, a 6-foot-9 forward from Long Island Lutheran, committed back in August.
