Madrid, Milan to wrangle over Kaka & on the field tomorrow at Yankee Stadium

Real Madrid and AC Milan will meet tomorrow not just over a soccer game – a World Football Challenge tilt at 8 p.m. at Yankee Stadium – but also over an iconic player as well: Kaka.

AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani is expected to meet with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez tomorrow in the city to try and hammer out a deal for the Brazilian star, who actually owns a luxury pad in Manhattan and whom the Post reported wants to play in New York and has been a transfer target of the Red Bulls.

“I will speak with Florentino Perez in New York,’’ Galliani told Sky Sport Italia. “It will be very hard for us to sign Kaka because of his high wages, but he is a player who is part of our history.’’

Kaka led Milan to a Champions League crown, and was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 2007. They extracted a world-record transfer fee from Real Madrid for his services, and now the la Liga champions are asking for €25 million for him, while AC Milan are trying to get him on a one-year loan deal with Real Madrid paying some of his salary.

Meanwhile, the Post reported that – as of last month – the Red Bulls actually had the highest bid for Kaka’s services, before moving on and signing Tim Cahill from Everton for $1.5 million. The Red Bulls – who host Houston Friday – will surely be monitoring the 30-year-old attacker’s situation closely.
