Isn’t the point of the sanctions against Iran to punish companies doing business with the mullahs and thereby pressure Tehran to stop its march toward a nuclear weapon?
Apparently a senior aide to President Obama didn’t get the message, because David Plouffe (who ran Obama’s camapign in 2008 and continues as a senior adviser), accepted a $100,000 speaking fee “in 2010 from an affiliate of a company doing business in Iran.”
And this isn’t any business with ties to Iran, it’s a company with direct ties to the Revolutionary Guard, which was responsible for putting down the Green Revolution and is presently operating in Syria desperately trying to kill enough people to keep dictator Bashar Assad in power.
Anyone going to ask Obama or mouthpiece Jay Carney whether Plouffe made a good decision when acceptiong $100,000 from an Iranian backed company that is one step away from terrorists?
