WASHINGTON – The Knicks announced this afternoon that they signed forward Chris Copeland.
The 6-foot-8, 224-pound forward has spent the past five seasons playing overseas in Belgium, Spain and Germany after appearing in 19 games in the D-League in 2006-07. Copeland averaged 21.8 points and 5.5 rebounds last season for Aalstar in 33 games in the Belgian League.
Copeland, a native of Orange, N.J. who played college ball at Colorado, was expected to receive a non-guaranteed deal, essentially earning a trip to training camp with a chance to make the roster.
