Manchester United tops Cowboys, Yankees, as  most valuable team

English Premiership soccer giant Manchester United is the most valuable franchise in sports, according to a study compiled by Forbes Magazine, released Wednesday. Forbes released its list of the world’s most valuable teams, with Manchester on top at $1.84 billion.

The second highest and top North American franchise is the National Football League’s Dallas Cowboys at $1.65 billion, with the Yankees coming in third.

The Washington Redskins, New England Patriots, Real Madrid, New York Giants, Arsenal, New York Jets and Houston Texans round out the top 10. That means three of the Top 10 _ the Bombers, Big Blue and Gang Green _ were New York squads. Wonder if LeBron James would’ve helped the Knicks make the cut?

Amid protests from fans, Manchester United’s owner, the U.S. Glazer family, has said it would not entertain offers to buy the club, which has around $1 billion of debt.
