Tuck, Nicks skip Giants practice but say they’ll play

The Giants had two glaring injury absences from practice Friday, Justin Tuck and Hakeem Nicks, but both standouts said they will play Monday night at Dallas.

Tuck sat out with a sprained ankle that he said happened two weeks ago, and Nicks was sidelined by a sore hamstring.

Tuck guaranteed he would be healthy enough to face the Cowboys and said he expects to be feeling well enough to practice Saturday in the Giants’ final on-field tuneup.

Nicks, who had three catches for 8 yards last week against the Lions, also assured reporters he would be in uniform.

“It’s ‘Monday Night Football’ – of course I’m going to play,” Nicks said.

Kicker Lawrence Tynes, who did not suit up against Detroit because of a sprained ankle, handled field goals and kickoffs with no problem and said he would be in the lineup for the Cowboys game.

The Giants also confirmed the expected by saying linebacker Keith Bulluck would play against the Cowboys after missing the past three games because of turf toe. Bulluck’s availability was not a surprise because he had practiced all week.
