Red Bulls Notes

Some random Red Bull notes to chew on before I leave the Garden:

While sports teams are seemingly squeezing every last coin out of their fans with PSLs, the Red Bulls are trying to draw some new fans but are freezing prices for their old ones. RBNY announced that ticket pricing for next seasons when Red Bull Arena opens in Harrison will be frozen for 2009 full-season ticket holders. So, whatever you’re shelling out this year is what you’ll shell out next year.

Also, as part of their marketing blitz for last Saturday’s home opener, the Red Bulls projected videos onto buildings throughout the city to hype up the game and promote the club. I’m a lot higher on this than I was having the street team and poor interns running through the streets with bull-horns. Hell, this kinda thing won Joey Harringtom a Heisman at Oregon, right?

And Albert Celades was in transit from Spain, and should be back in the U.S. Wednesday. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t play Sunday in Chicago. Carlos Johnson was calling the U.S. consulate in Costa Rica trying to get his date for a P-1 as soon as possible, hopefully this week. But there are never any promises with INS.

Alfredo Pacheco, despite having a going-away party thrown for him by C.D. FAS supporters _ I can’t make this stuff up _ still doesn’t have his date yet.
