Give David Beckham this much; no matter where Goldenballs goes, he doesn’t slum it. Oh, sure, his AC Milan team got uncerimoniously dumped out of the UEFA Cup by Werder Bremen’s 2-2 tie at the San Siro; but at least he had some expensive pillows to cry himself to sleep on; he’s staying at a palacial abode owned by none other than George Clooney.
People Magazine reported that the 33-year-old midfielder has been staying at the Lake Como villa owned by Clooney while the actor is away. Clooney just shot a March 12 special episode of ER. Hello! magazine _ which broke the story _ said Clooney was introduced to Becks last year in New York by Giorgio Armani, and took him under his wing when the Brit moved to Italy.
It’s good to have friends in high places, I guess. Now if only Clooney could’ve helped defend Claudio Pizarro on that second-half brace….
