110-106, Cavs

By MARC BERMAN

Nobody nailed the score of tonight’s offensive orgy on the nose. But John Shaft came closest, with Cavs 107-104.

As expected, the Knicks’ offense sizzled, with Eddy and Zach forming a dynamic duo and Jamal Crawford and Nate Robinson providing the perimeter punch. The Knicks were turnover-free for most of the game. They just did not defend. Same old story. They did not defend the 3-point line when the game mattered most – as playoff hero Daniel Gibson burned them in the fourth and LeBron James attacked them all night with 45 points. Stephon Marbury had a horrible game, the victim of Gibson’s treys and finally was benched for Nate in the final four minutes. And Curry continued to be a mess at the free throw line despite his low-post dominance.

The agonizing part is this Cavs team was coming off a 74-point game – be it as it may against Dallas. Feels like there will be a lot of Knick games like this, with both teams breaking 100.
