Tracking the Tracker

The Fantasy Tracker takes a beating in the office over its vast collection of teams. But like to think of it as thorough research. Here’s a run-down of how the Tracker’s 61 teams are faring thus far. The Tracker sent 61 teams into this year’s fantasy field. We’ve got 24 ESPN free leagues, one of which is a custom league with individual defensive players. There are 17 free Yahoo! leagues in play, all basic format. Fox Sports houses five of our leagues, including one custom IDP league. We have three at AOL, all basic, and 10 basic teams at fanball.com, at a small fee per each pair of teams. We also play in a custom 75/25 media league at CBSSports against fantasy writers from other papers, and a custom 50/50 in-office league at CBS.

After a slow start, the Tracker has bounced back recently to rise it’s mark to a respectable 287-200-1 and a .598 winning percentage. Our average record is 4.7-3.3.

With 61 leagues, there are a handful with which we pay special attention – our two CBS leagues (4-4 in both), one at fanball (4-4) and one at ESPN (7-1, IDP).

The Tracker has three 8-0 teams and seven with 7-1 marks. On the flip side, our worst team is 1-7 and we have four 2-6 squads. Of course, the bulk are mired in the 5-3 to 3-5 range.

It only took an hour or so to calculate these numbers (not including the other hours spent updating the teams weekly), so by gosh we are going to share this hand-earned information.
