Two minutes of footage from the upcoming TV show “The Clone Wars” were revealed over the weekend at a “Star Wars” convention in Los Angeles and then posted on the official “Star Wars” Web site:

The show, which takes place in between the most recent movies, is not slated to debut for at least two years.

The scene showed intense battle scenes featuring Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, C3-PO, Mace Windu and the other favorite faces from the “Star Wars” saga.

The clip seemed to be something of a middle ground between the hand-drawn look of the 2003 Cartoon Network mini-series with a similar name and the photo-realistic CGI world that Lucas jammed into the final three “Star Wars” live-action films.

It is well known that Lucas has been bent on replacing all the human actors in his projects with digital ones. “The Clone Wars” will likely be the first true realization of his dream.
