So, they went out and signed Christian Gomez, one of the most prolific scorers in Major League Soccer.
The Rapids locked up the Argentine midfielder on Friday after acquiring his rights from D.C. United. Gomez signed a two-year deal worth about $400,000 a season. The team holds an option for a third year.
