DEAD FISH

Saw my favorite thing of the spring today.

There is a dead fish on the roof of one of the concession stands here at Knology Park. A big fish. Of course, it’s dead, it’s on the roof. Don’t ask me how it got there, but it was there and in plain sight from the back of the press box.

At first I thought it was one of the Blue Jays bats.

Blue Jays once again have third place written all over them in the tough AL East. Rains came today so the game was pretty much a washout, even though they played five wet innings. Not much you can tell about Igawa when he’s pitching to guys with linemen numbers on their backs, but at least he was throwing strikes.

Phil Hughes looked again like Future Ace, check out my column tomorrow, plus I give Hughes some blog love. He has a future there, too.

Johnny Damon told me he’s finally getting his legs into his swing. The Yankees are all using their legs, the team is in much better shape and you can expect a lot more baseball this year, which should make them more successful. Had a good chat with A-Rod, too.

I asked if he has any personal goals this year. Said he has just one, play all 162 games and everything will take care of itself. The Yankees definitely have a good vibe right now. No dead fish at the moment.
