2008 just like 2007

By MARC BERMAN

After being away five days in Florida to discover the Fountain of Adjectives to newly describe the Knick turmoil, I come back today for the first practice of 2008 and it was just like all the practices of 2007.

Isiah Thomas still doesn’t know his starting lineup for tomorrow’s game. Isiah’s still talking about having “good talent” and a “good nucleus.” And Stephon Marbury is still not talking to the press, his status for tomorrow vs. Sacramento questionable. Actually, barely anyone is talking to us anymore, as the Knicks have mastered the art of skipping into the locker room while Isiah addresses the media. Only Jamal Crawford found it important enough to talk to reporters today. When Isiah cites new leaders emerging in the locker room, he’s referring only to Jamal. Crawford’s about the only stand-up guy left in the room whose not afraid to talk about the team’s woes.
