A lucky lottery player who bought their ticket in New Jersey is the sole winner of last night’s $338.3 million Powerball drawing — bagging one of the largest jackpots in US history, lottery officials said.
The winner chose numbers 17-29-31-52-53 and the powerball: 31.
The identity of the winner wasn’t known, as they had not yet come forward to claim the winnings — the sixth largest in the game’s 20-year history, a Powerball spokesman said.
Nationwide, 13 winners also scored the $1 million prize — including one New York resident, who has not yet been named.
A Powerball player in Iowa scored a $2 million prize.
The last person to bag a large Powerball jackpot was a Virginia resident, who took home $217.2 million on Feb. 6.
New Yorkers bought $17.34 million worth of Powerball tickets playing yesterday’s lottery — marking the third largest ticket sales in the state’s history.
Roughly $9 million of those sales occurred on Saturday alone.
Four New York-based shops have sold jackpot-winning Powerball tickets since the state joined the Powerball lottery in 2010.
More than $1 billion in lottery tickets have been sold, generating more than $353.82 million for the state’s public education system since 2010.
