LI driver charged with DWI after ‘killing’ pedestrian

Authorities have arrested a Long Island driver in connection with the early morning death of a pedestrian.

Suffolk County police say the 59-year-old Lake Grove man was driving the SUV near the hamlet of Lake Ronkonkoma around 2:30 a.m. Sunday when he hit the man, who was in the roadway on Express Drive North.

The driver was charged with driving while intoxicated. He was scheduled to be arraigned Sunday.

Authorities did not release the name of the victim pending family notification.
