Chicken survives head-on car crash

That’s one tough bird!

A chicken miraculously survived a head-on collision with a Toyota Corolla that was going 70 mph – the car took the brunt of the damage.

Huang Lingyong, 31, was driving near an industrial park in Xinfeng county in south China’s Jiangxi province when the chicken suddenly tried to cross the road – and into the path of Lingyong’s vehicle, the Daily Mail reported.

Huang immediately slammed on the breaks.

“I braked because I am an animal lover and didn’t want to harm the chicken,” he explained.

But he wasn’t able to stop fast enough and wound up colliding with the bird.

“I heard a sickening thud and I thought the chicken had gone to meet his ancestors … but then I heard a cluck-clucking and bent down to look closer. It was a little shaken up and its feathers all ruffled, but otherwise OK.”

The chicken was lodged into the flimsy bumper that cracked open when hit by the bird.

“It seemed to me to be a very good advert for the durability of chickens and a very bad one for the quality of the car that I was driving,” Lingyong joked.
