‘Freed is good’

Get the hair gel and suspenders ready — Gordon Gekko is finally walking out of prison!

Here’s Michael Douglas yesterday reprising his role as the infamous stock trader as director Oliver Stone shoots the first scene of the sequel to the 1987 classic film “Wall Street.”

In his last appearance on the silver screen, Gekko was being ratted out to the feds for securities violations by his ethically challenged protégé, Bud Fox, played by Charlie Sheen.

Stone’s “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps” — which also will feature the return of Sheen’s character — opens two decades later with Gekko being freed from federal lockup.

For yesterday’s shoot, the crew made over the outside of Sing Sing maximum-security prison in Ossining.

The avaricious Gekko — whose portrayal by Douglas earned him a Best Actor Oscar and a stream of would-be imitators flocking to Wall Street jobs — re-emerges into a world that all-too-eagerly embraces his legendary mantra: “Greed is good.”

“Wall Street 2” also will star Shia LaBeouf (as a trader engaged to Gekko’s daughter), Frank Langella, Susan Sarandon and Josh Brolin.

Douglas recently prepped for his role by having dinner with Stone and Samuel Waksal, the founder of ImClone Systems, who himself did a stretch for financial crimes.

The movie, being filmed around the city, is set for release next April.
