There must be something in the water at ESPN.
On the heels of the Steve Phillips affair-with-an-assistant revelation, two other network bigs have been exposed for a steamy in-house liaison.
Senior marketing Vice President Kate Lacey is in a hot-and-heavy romance with David Berson, the vice president for programming.
“I’m in an ongoing and known relationship with a peer,” Lacey told The Post.
Berson, whom Business Week ranks as the 73rd most powerful man in sports, finalized his divorce from his ex-wife Jane in March, a source said. Lacey and Berson first found romance together two years ago, the source said. A separate ESPN source confirmed Berson and Lacey had been dating for a long time.
“I’ve taken the high road so far and will continue to do so,” said Jane Berson. “I can’t comment.”
Meanwhile, other employees said ESPN has had a lusty office vibe for years.
One of them blamed geography.
ESPN brass are “not really against work relationships,” he explained, “because [the headquarters is] so in the middle of nowhere.”
