Child abuse suspected as Brooklyn boy, 4, dies

A 4-year-old Brooklyn boy was killed today in what appears to be a heinous case of child abuse, sources said.

Jayden Lenescar’s mother found the boy unconscious at their first floor apartment on Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights around 2:30 p.m. and frantically called 911, cops said.

The tot was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from cardiac arrest, officials said.

“There was bruising on the body suggesting that it might have been the result of child abuse,” said a senior police official.

The boy’s mother was questioned at the 71st Precinct. She is not considered a suspect.

Witness Anna Gilliam described the heartwrenching scene as Jayden’s mom watched paramedics try to revive the boy outside the home.

“They were pressing on his chest, and his mom was crying and screaming,” Gilliam said. “Her son’s heart stopped. They had oxygen on his mouth.

“The mother was hollering “Lord, no! Don’t let my baby die!”

The Medical Examiner has yet to determine whether the death was homicide, though the police officials said it “appears to be suspicious.”
