Blind eye to cheating: Phillips’ lax judgment

THE ISSUE: ESPN correspondent Steve Phillips’ messy affair with a 22-year-old co-worker.

* From the Kennedy brothers to Hugh Grant, Eliot Spitzer, Peter Cook and a whole lot of lesser-known men, cheating is not news, it’s just easy (“Steve’s Lust,” Oct. 22).

Why not report on some of the guys who make being a man something to be proud of? Give credit for making things work rather than taking the easy way out.

* If I was going to fool around on my wife, I’d make it worth the aggravation.

Come on, Steve Phillips. You’re not making it look good for all those potential and practicing adulterers.

* With all of the things that are wrong with Brooke Hundley, her being a tubby temptress is the least of it.

When will you report a story without referring to a woman’s weight?

In stories about men, do you mention their weight or lack of hair?

I don’t think so.

* While I think it’s cool that Phillips hooked up with a girl half his age, this is what you get for cheating.

Now he gets to ask himself: Was it worth it?
