Tyra Banks ending TV talk show

Tyra Banks is calling it quits on her talk show.

“This will be the last season of ‘The Tyra Show,’” Banks told People. “I’ve been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past 5 years.”

The model-turned-girl power enthusiast will wrap up the fifth and final season of her Daytime Emmy award-winning talk show this spring.

She’ll then focus on launching Bankable Studios, a New York-based film production company that will “allow me to reach more women and young girls to help us all feel as fierce as we truly are,” Banks said.

According to an insider, who said that Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey inspired Banks to make the jump from little to big screen, this means she’ll be bringing “positive images of women to the big screen.”

Banks is keeping some fingers in the TV pie though — “America’s Next Top Model” will return for its 15th season on the CW in February and a second season of the ABC reality show “True Beauty” has already been shot.
